7520 Animals on Campus

Pet animals may cause a nuisance and have the potential to be a safety hazard. Animals can be unpredictable, have uncontrollable behavior and can contribute to accidents in the workplace. There are also many people who are allergic to animals.

The College prohibits everyone from taking pets into any College building or facility. This includes all College vehicles.

The exceptions to this are:

  • Working animals including guide dogs and animals used in theatrical performances
  • Animals used for approved teaching purposes
  • Animals used for agriculture

When a person enters College grounds with a pet, they shall ensure that the pet under their control remains restrained and under effective control while on College grounds.

The pet owner must remove their animal feces immediately and deposit them in a litter bin. Properly leashed pets may accompany employees on grounds of the College properties.
